Cooking Wild Greens

Today I made some wild greens, Xorta, with olive oil and lemon, mmm...

The fields here are full with this delicious greens, ready to be picked and eaten!

You collect the tops op the plants just before the flower will blossom.

You wash them well to get rid of all the snails and sand.

Boil a big pot of water.

Cook the Yummy greens for 10 minutes.

Strain them from the water, add olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper, eat!
Mmmm...

Inspired By The Beach

To go to the beach on a winter day and leave the wind to blow away your thoughts and worries,
it's amazing.
Always when I'm there I think, I should come every day, but when every day live go's on I don't always make time for it.

This day though, I took my doggy Chico and of we went!

I collected beautiful Pebbles and at home painted them with white acrylic paint.

Here You see all my Pebbles and my new crochet coasters.

I made some little ones for coffee cups to!

My Table decorated in sand colors with the pebbles of the Beach, simplicity is lovely :)

Chania

This weekend we went to Chania, a town in the north of Crete, it was Wonderful! We were very lucky with the weather, lovely sunny days so we could spend a lot of time outside:

The kids were feeding the fish with the left overs of the bread.

Our doggy Chico came along and was the best behaved dog ever!

Me and my friend Geli on the old harbor of Chania

Our hotel was in one of the traditional narrow streets of Chania, gorgeous!

My Husband, son and doggy :)

Chania is only 2 hours from where we live but its like being in a complete different place, we will spend some more time here for sure!
If you like to go one time I can give you the advice to go out of the season because in the summer its crazy busy! And also ask the locals for the non touristic restaurants were the food is great and the prices logic. (look were the Greeks are eating ;)

Food, Not Just For Your Plate

Food, not just for you plate, I know that already because I use vinegar in my cleaning chores and grounded coffee to make smells in the fridge go away.

When I hear a couple of weeks ago from a beauty trick that would make your skin smooth and young,
 I was all ears!
This beauty secret does not involve many ingredients,
 just one really: egg white.

Always into something new, I gave it a try.

30 minutes before going in the shower I split the egg and applied the egg white with some kitchen paper (didn't have a little brush) on my face. You don't really use all the egg white so after the shower you could have a little omelet ;)
After a while you feel the egg hardening and pulling on your skin.
In the shower it's easy to remove with some warm water, I loved the result!
You should apply a moisturizing cream after the shower.

I feel like it wipes out fine lines and leaves my skin smooth and soft, I do it twice a week now and the great thing is that its so cheap!

Give it a try!

Happy Valentine!

There was the plan to make cupcakes with paper heart decorations and sweet messages, I wish I made lovely cards like Julia Child in the movie :)
But there was time today just for a yummy cake from the bakery, and we will enjoy it!

Happy Valentine's day to everybody!
